Cookie policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on baronmag.com. It complements our privacy policy.

1. What a cookie is

A cookie is a small file a website places in your browser. It keeps you signed in, remembers your choices, counts visits, or measures the effect of an ad. Some are set by us, others by third-party services we use.

2. Your choice

On your first visit, a banner offers to accept all, reject all, or choose by category. Only necessary cookies are set before you decide.

You can revisit that choice at any time through the “Manage consent” link at the bottom of every page. Rejecting does not prevent you from using the site; some secondary features may be limited.

3. The categories

Necessary — always active

Without them the site does not work: your session, your sign-in, your cart, form security, and the memory of your consent choices.

Remember display choices that are not essential to the operation of the site.

Statistics

These would compile usage statistics. Baron Mag uses no external analytics tool at this time — no cookie is set in this category.

Marketing — only if you accept

These let Meta and LinkedIn measure our campaigns and show our ads to the right people. Until you accept this category, these scripts do not load at all and no data is sent.

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
_fbp, frMeta PlatformsCampaign measurement and targeted advertisingUp to 3 months
bcookie, lidc, UserMatchHistory, li_sugrLinkedInCampaign measurement and targeted advertisingUp to 1 year

4. The Meta pixel and the Conversions API

If you accept the “Marketing” category, certain actions (subscribing to The Radar, starting a trial, a paid membership) are sent to Meta both by your browser and by our server, with a shared identifier so the same action is not counted twice. Your email and name are turned into hashed fingerprints (SHA-256) that Meta cannot read back in the clear. If you decline, none of this happens.

5. Your browser settings

You can also block or erase cookies directly in your browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge). Note: erasing cookies also erases the memory of your consent choice, and the banner will come back.

6. Questions
