Slake Brewing and Blood Brothers Brewing have teamed up for a collaboration that puts one ingredient firmly in the spotlight: peach.
Called Rest in Peaches, the new release is a Hazy IPA brewed with peach terpenes, developed during a collaboration between the two breweries.
The beer started with a familiar foundation: a hazy IPA. The brewers then took the peach character in a different direction, adding peach terpenes to intensify the aroma.
Terpenes are aromatic compounds found naturally in plants and are responsible for many of the distinctive aromas we associate with fruits, herbs and other botanicals. In this case, they are being used to push the beer’s peach profile well beyond what traditional fruit additions might deliver.
The result is intentionally straightforward: a very, very peachy IPA.
The collaboration also reflects the growing experimentation happening across craft beer, as brewers explore new ways to build aroma and flavour without relying exclusively on conventional fruit additions.
