Microbrasserie À la Fût launches La Fauteuse de trouble -The Troublemaker-, a Hazy IPA brewed entirely by women and made exclusively with Quebec ingredients. But beyond this new beer, now distributed across the province, lies a broader initiative that reflects the evolution of Quebec’s brewing landscape.

In April, 13 women from different regions and breweries gathered at À la Fût to create a collaborative recipe inspired by their shared experiences. The project was led by Natacha, the brewery’s Montreal representative and former brewer, alongside Catherine, a brewer on the team.
The participants represent, among others:
- 4 Origines
- À l’abri de la tempête
- Brutopia Brewpub
- Noctem Artisans Brasseurs
- Microbrasserie Moulin 7
- Oxymore Microbrasserie
- and many others
The name La Fauteuse de trouble is deliberate. It reflects women asserting their place in an industry that remains largely male-dominated, both in production roles and brand development.
The beer itself features aromas of peach, nectarine, honeydew melon, and citrus, with a smooth texture and creamy carbonation—true to the contemporary Hazy IPA style.
The project also highlights a local supply chain through partners such as Innomalt for malt and Duke25 for hops.
Beyond the product, La Fauteuse de trouble serves as a reminder that brewing collaborations can also build networks, foster exchanges, and strengthen community within Quebec’s brewing industry.
