Boquébière temporarily closes following smoke and water damage

Craft brewery Boquébière has announced the temporary closure of its retail location following a nearby fire that caused significant smoke and water damage to the premises.

Although the flames did not directly reach the business, the company says the accumulation of smoke residue and water inside the building makes reopening impossible in the short term. After inspecting the site, the team confirmed that extensive cleanup and restoration work will be required before operations can resume.

The brewery is now working with its insurance provider to assess the damages and begin the recovery process.

Despite the closure, Boquébière emphasized that its beer production remains unaffected. Most of the brewery’s canned and kegged beer is produced at another facility in Sherbrooke, allowing distribution to continue normally through retail partners and restaurant accounts.

Customers will therefore still be able to find Boquébière products at various points of sale, as well as at several partner restaurants in the region.

In its public statement, the company encouraged supporters to continue purchasing its products through local retailers and hospitality partners while the physical location remains closed.

Like many independent breweries, the situation highlights how vulnerable hospitality and retail operations can be when unexpected events impact physical spaces — even when production infrastructure remains intact.

Boquébière says it hopes to reopen as quickly as possible and will continue updating the public as the situation evolves.
